Reality bites for David and Ruth.

Brian has been phoning Jennifer from Dublin. Siobhan is getting worse and her sister Niamh has decided to stay on. Elizabeth is going to Dublin on Tuesday. Adam tells Jennifer that she's amazing and he and Ian will do all they can to support her decision to take Ruairi; despite the pressure Jennifer is under, she isn't going to change her mind about that. Meanwhile she's supporting Alice who is working hard for her A2s.

Adam is encouraged that Jennifer is coming to the cricket cup match against Ramsbury. Shula has prepared a sumptuous tea which goes down well with the spectators and players. In a tense match, David is out LBW for 39 runs and Roy makes 56. Kev gets the Ramsbury captain out with his third ball and eventually Ambridge win the match.

David's enjoyment of winning is dampened when Ruth tells him about Siobhan having cancer. David feels guilty that he wasn't there to support Brian. He can't help remembering that he told Brian he didn't want to hear his confidences about Siobhan. David wonders what will happen to Ruairi and resolves to speak to Elizabeth about the situation before she goes to Dublin.
