When the popular, defiant Landon Carter is forced to participate in the school drama production, he falls in love with quiet Jamie Sullivan, the daughter of the town's minister. Jamie is protecting a secret from Landon and dedicates herself to her 'to do' list.
The two grow hesitantly closer, but both students must come to terms with the changes their relationship sets in motion, as old bonds are tested.
