The mysterious past of a Dallas lumberyard owner comes to the fore when his wife is kidnapped by the KGB while on holiday in Paris.

As he and his son set off across Europe in a bid to track her down - dodging bullets and exploding cars along the way - the younger man begins to realise that there is more to his father than the middle-aged, conservative businessman he had always despised.
