Crime thriller inspired by the case of Vatican banker Roberto Calvi. When a homeless man approaches journalist Billie Hayman with an eyewitness account of an execution, she attempts to uncover the truth behind a businessman's alleged suicide.

Billie soon discovers that the police were involved in the killing, and the down-and-out becomes entrenched in a conspiracy as he and the American hack seek to expose the truth.
