Comedy about a pampered movie star who is desperate to land the lead role in a new police thriller.

Unfortunately for him, Mel Gibson is also up for the part, so the actor, ever professional, researches into New York police work by jumping in at the deep end. He teams up with a tough lawman in an effort to discover what makes him tick, but gets more than he bargained for when the cop takes him on the trail of a deadly sniper.

Under pressure, both men have a lot to learn about the world - and each other - as the reality of brutality, bullets and bad guys is never far away.
