David and Ruth find a brand new look.

Everything on the farm is under control but Adam wants a decision about the contractors. Brian agrees he can't keep putting it off but he's desperate to talk to Jennifer, who just wants to carry on as normal. She knows this situation is difficult for Adam and admits that everything would be ok if she agreed to take on Ruairi. Seeing Brian with Ruairi made her realise he'll never give him up - and she doesn't want to lose Brian. She just hopes Siobhan will pull through, then she won't have a decision to make.

Nigel's got a complimentary case of Lower Loxley wine for David, and finds him struggling with his toga costume. David's not interested in Nigel's Roman jokes - he's heard them all before - but he makes it clear he doesn't want to talk about Brian either.

Nigel's planning to do the race dressed as great uncle Rupert in splendid Edwardian attire. And for Elizabeth he's sorted out one of Julia's old stage costumes.

Out for a dress rehearsal on the bikes, they bump into David and Ruth doing the same. Everyone believes they'll do better tomorrow and a challenge is set. It's the British Empire against the Roman Empire!
