Tongue-in-cheek western about an ageing US marshal who forms an alliance with an old adversary. When the marshal warns the town mayor that a band of desperadoes is approaching, he is promptly forced to retire. Re-election time is at hand, and the mayor wants to avoid trouble at any price. But the marshal turns for help to the over-the-hill leader of a local outlaw band who has lost control of his men, and soon the bullets are flying.
