Masterful psychological thriller about a young woman who marries a rich and handsome man after a whirlwind romance but finds that his household is obsessed with the memory of his dead first wife, Rebecca. She finds the hostile behaviour of the housekeeper particularly upsetting - until she makes a discovery that shows Rebecca in a different light.
Based on a novel by Daphne du Maurier, the film won a Best Picture Oscar.
