Drama about two youngsters growing up together in suburban London in the early 60s, both determined to escape from `Metroland' and dreaming of the boulevards of Bohemian Paris. After leaving school, Chris goes to Paris to study and he falls in love. Nine years later, living in Metroland and happily married, Chris meets up with Toni again - and his friend cannot believe he has fallen into the life that they so despised.
