Epic historical drama which documents a legal battle over a shipload of slaves who overpowered their captors at sea and landed on the shores of America. Initially, the argument in the courts revolves around the issue of property and ownership. Gradually though, the lawyers for the defence come to understand and appreciate the humanity of the men turned into cargo by the evils of slavery.
