As Neil Armstrong takes a giant leap for mankind and half a million hippies invade Woodstock, a staid and conventional family takes its annual holiday in a cabin in the Catskills. But the frustrated wife finds herself drawn towards an itinerant pedlar - and everything is changed for ever.
