The Long Voyage Home

A powerful saga of merchant seamen during the early days of World War II, based on four plays by Eugene O'Neill. The tramp freighter SS Glencairn is moored on a Caribbean island while her crew enjoy their last night of freedom. As they sail into seas threatened by German U-boats and bombers, the hardships of life on board and the seamen's hopes for a better future are revealed.
