Entertaining Oscar-winning story set in 1930s Illinois in which two con men set up an elaborate sting to fleece a big-time crook in revenge for the killing of a friend. Their ruse employs a whole line-up of con artists in setting up a bookie's for a betting scam involving serious money and, given their target, a serious risk. Winner of seven Oscars including Best Musical Adaptation with Scott Joplin's `The Entertainer'.
