David and Ruth get started on the environmental survey of the farm. It's nice to be working together.
Alistair lets on to Susan that Chris has started talking about a new girlfriend - she turns out to be Stacey from Meadow Rise. Great, says Susan, from the sublime to the ridiculous.
Peggy brings Jack into the shop, and Susan finds out just how bad his condition is. She is shocked. Later, with Peggy, he gets in a state about the cricket club dinner tomorrow, of which he has no recollection. Peggy explains all about it once again; it's at Grey Gables, it should be lovely, he'll be with friends. But Jack thinks that he'll be too tired. He won't go.
