Ed and the cows are vegging-out at Grange Farm.

David and Bert have managed to get the engine working on the Massey tractor they are restoring. Joe is impressed and begs to drive it. David admits to Ruth that the other day he was annoyed with Brian for using him as his confidante about Siobhan. He made it clear to Brian that he should sort his own life out, prioritising what was important - his marriage to Jennifer. Ruth is relieved David's mood that day had nothing to do with her.

It seems as though Chris and Netia's relationship has ended, as Chris asks Jazzer for Stacey the barmaid's phone number; she lives near Jazzer in Meadow Rise. Ed is pleased to accept Oliver's invitation to go to the Paris show.

Mike has received complaints about the milk tasting funny. He's angry when he finds out Ed has been feeding the cows with swedes and tells him to exclude them from their diet immediately. Fed up, Ed confides in Joe who suggests that if he feeds the swedes to the cows right after milking, then the milk won't be tainted. Flying in the face of Mike's edict, he decides to give it a go.
