Winters is promoted to Battalion Executive Officer after successfully leading a risky mission on a Dutch dyke but is concerned about the leadership of the three companies he now commands. From Paris, news arrives of a massive Axis effort in the Ardennes Forest which threatens to break Allied lines, and an ill-equipped Easy Company races in to lend support.
