Proms in the Park 2016, London - Who's Performing?

Join in the Last Night of the Proms celebrations in Hyde Park on Saturday 10 September as the legendary Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons head a spectacular line-up including ABC, All Saints, Rick Astley, The Feeling, Juan Diego Florez, Sir James Galway, Tim Minchin and the cast of Matilda The Musical.

They will join Proms in the Park favourites the BBC Concert Orchestra and the Royal Choral Society conducted by Richard Balcombe. Presented for the first time by Michael Ball, Britain's largest outdoor classical music event is a rousing finale to two months of the finest music-making at the BBC Proms culminating in a live big-screen link-up to the Royal Albert Hall for the traditional Last Night sing-along.

Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons

Frankie Valli needs little introduction - he's been at the very top for more than five decades; and as leader singer of the Four Seasons he's sold over 100 million records, and had a hit musical - not to mention a Hollywood film - made about him.

Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons will be headlining this year’s BBC Proms in the Park in London's Hyde Park, performing some of their best known and greatest hits, from Who Loves You, to Sherry, December 1963, and Big Girls Don’t Cry accompanied by the 75 piece BBC Concert Orchestra.

ABC

Martin Fry and ABC will be on stage performing songs from The Lexicon of Love accompanied by the full forces of the 75 piece BBC Concert Orchestra.

The group's classic album topped the charts back in 1982, and they've returned in 2016 with a sequel, The Lexicon of Love II.

All Saints

Back in 2016 with a brand new album 'Red Flag', plus a live performance at Proms in the Park.

Shaznay Lewis, Melanie Blatt, Natalie Appleton and Nicole Appleton found fame at the end of the 1990s and start of the 2000s with a string of sophisticated pop hits including 'Never Ever' and 'Pure Shores'.

The Feeling

Getting the party started at this year's Proms in the Park in Hyde Park will be The Feeling.

Since hitting the Top Ten with debut singe 'Sewn' back in 2007, the band have gone on to release five albums, including this year's self-titled LP and the chart-topping 'Join With Us' in 2008.

Rick Astley

Rick Astley was just 21 when he scored major success with his No.1 single 'Never Gonna Give You Up'.

Now he’s hit 50 and back with a new album, also called '50'. He’ll be joining our Proms in the Park line-up to reflect three decades of music making with his greatest hits and some new songs and covers.

Tim Minchin

The multi-talented comedian, actor, composer, songwriter, pianist and director will be joined by some of the cast of the hit West End musical Matilda, to which he provided lyrics and music.

Sir James Galway

The Belfast-born flautist will help celebrate 20 years of BBC Proms in the Park, with a return to the event he first performed at back in its first year in 1996.

Sir James' rose to fame playing the flute in a number of renowned orchestras, before embarking on a solo career that has seen him sell over 30 million copies of his recordings and earn the nickname 'The Man with the Golden Flute'.

Tribute to Sir Terry Wogan

This year's Proms in the Park will feature a special tribute to Sir Terry Wogan, who presented the Hyde Park event for 18 years, from 1997 to 2015.

Michael Ball

Radio 2 presenter Michael Ball will be presenting Proms in the Park for the first time this year. He also performed at the very first Proms in the Park in 1996, and will be singing with Alfie Boe at this year's event.

This open-air concert will also feature Proms in the Park favourites the BBC Concert Orchestra under the baton of Richard Balcombe, and special guest Juan Diego Flórez, who's also performing in the Royal Albert Hall.
