Why Get Playing? "I used to love playing piano. One of my biggest regrets is giving it up while I was still at school. I’m not sure how much I remember, so I’m looking forward to the challenge of learning to play some of my favourite songs again."
About Clara
Clara Amfo is the dynamic young host of BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge and can be heard from 10am every Monday to Friday.
She joined the Radio 1Xtra weekend breakfast show back in 2013, and last year could be heard presenting Radio 1’s Official Chart (which, in her words, was “a dream come true”).
An avid music lover with a big personality, Clara can also be found out and about at live events. She’s hosted on the red carpet for the MOBO Awards, and presented BBC Three's coverage of Radio 1’s Big Weekend, T in The Park and the Glastonbury festival. She's also hosted The Transformation Trust’s annual Rock Assembly at London’s 02 Arena to over 16,000 people.
Her broadcast work so far has earned her a prestigious Sony Radio Award nomination for ‘Rising Star’.
