Danielle Price (she/her) is a performer, improviser and composer whose work explores a range of creative outlets, mainly using tuba and voice. She studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, graduating in 2013 with Distinction from the Master of Music course and winning the Governors' Recital Prize for Brass. She returned to studies in 2020, completing a two-year MA at the Norges musikkhøgskole, Oslo.
Danielle enjoys a versatile career involving her own projects as well as having worked with the likes of The Night With…, Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra, Cryptic, Pure Brass, Harry Weir’s Blue Boar, Rebecca Vasmant, Ali Affleck, Bill Wells & Aidan Moffat, Oxbow, Ntshuks Bonga, Tori Kudo, Red Note Ensemble, Chilly Gonzales "Gonzervatory 2019”, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Ballet, Laura Jurd, Martin Green and Hylozoic/Desires at Tate Britain.
Danielle is one half of tuba duo Dopey Monkey with Martin Lee Thomson. Together they were Chamber Music Scotland Ensemble in Residence 2022-2024 and Britten Pears Young Artists 2023 where they formed the band Pejla with percussionist Adrian Ortman. Dopey Monkey are Denis Wick Associated Artists and Brakul Product Ambassadors.
Danielle regularly collaborates with Bill Wells, as the Sensory Illusions (Karaoke Kalk) and the Viaduct Tuba Trio (Bison Records). Her debut solo EP “After the Allotments" was released in 2022 by OTOROKU.
