Make it Digital at Tall Ships

The nautical beasts of the world are coming to Northern Ireland! An international fleet of tall ships will cast their anchors in Belfast from 2 to 5 July 2015 to mark the start of the Tall Ships Races 2015.

To celebrate, The Belfast Maritime Festival is hosting a free family event around Belfast Harbour and the Titanic Quarter. A half a million people are expected to attend, with thousands more lining our shores to see the ships off.

The BBC Make it Digital Roadshow will be at Pollock dock from 2nd – 4th July. This is a fun, exciting event where you can get hands on with latest technology, get stuck into interactive activities and work with some amazing digital innovators. The roadshow is visiting 13 locations across the UK and will arrive in Belfast straight from another maritime town – Plymouth! It’s sure to be fun, interactive and suitable for families and young people with Dr Who and his Daleks and BBC Weather.

Not to be outdone we’re joining the party! You can follow our nautically themed live blog on these pages from July 4th. We’ll bring you some of the Festival highlights with a splash of maritime history and heritage. Join in the conversation on Twitter using #TallShips.

BBC Northern Ireland’s Tall Ships 2015 highlights programme is on Sunday 5th July on BBC One NI.
