Class Joker - Stand-up
Does your school contain some budding stand-ups?
Russell Howard, Kevin Bridges, Sarah Millican, Omid Djalili, Michael McIntyre - some of Britain’s most popular TV celebrities are stand-up comedians.

In our Class Joker category, we’re looking for the funniest people in your classroom.
We want them to get their best jokes down on paper before turning them into a live performance.
Use the teachers' resources and activity slides to introduce your students to some of the key rules of writing for stand-up comedy. You can also use the wide variety of clips in our Class Joker collection to show how the various comedy tools are used in creating stand-up routines.
Class Joker - Red Nose Day 2017

Once your students have completed their stand-up routine, think about ways they could use it for Red Nose Day. Is the class the biggest audience your students could play to? Could they manage an assembly sized audience? How about organising a lunchtime event for the keenest comedians so they can practice and learn from one another?
Filming your stand-up routine?
If filming your stand-up routine, you can record your film (with sound) using the equipment you may already have in school such as:

- a tablet or smartphone
- a compact stills camera
- a camcorder
If possible film in landscape and use a tripod to keep your camera steady as this will ensure better results.
If you are using a recording device with a built in microphone, remember to stand close to the microphone for best sound results, and don’t forget to do a sound test.
