Will Millard - Biography

Will Millard is a writer and explorer. Before his TV work with the BBC he lived in Indonesia as a teacher and led a number of expeditions within Indonesian West Papua and West Africa. Whilst in Papua he learnt to speak the local languages and studied inter-tribal trade, receiving awards and Fellowship from the Royal Geographical Society (2009,2013) and the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust (2012) for his work.

His first BBC series, ‘Hunters of the South Seas’ (2014) saw him living alongside Bajau spear fisherman, Lamaleran whale hunters, and the Kula shells hunters of the Trobriand Islanders. From his South Wales base he has also presented a number of documentaries for BBC Wales on British rivers and local Welsh history, before he spent a year making his latest series ‘My Year With The Tribe’ with the remote Korowai people of New Guinea.
