On 17th November 2025, we reported on airport meet and greet horror stories, and a scheme that the parking industry trade associations have introduced to supposedly help people find reputable and trustworthy parking firms.

Here are Rob Staines’ top tips on what precautions you can take when booking an airport parking company.

• Shop around and don’t just go for the cheapest option – if there’s a massive disparity in price, ask yourself why.
• Look for providers with the Park Mark logo – this means the cark park is checked and verified.
• When you drop off your car, take detailed photos and videos of the condition of the car, as well as a picture of mileage and fuel levels.
• Check their insurance policy terms and conditions and what it will cover. If you can’t find them, ask them to signpost where they’re written.
• Get a tracking device and place it in your car.
• Always pay on credit card and get yourself a receipt.
