Jewellery Designer Emily Auger tells Get Creative about her passion for digital printing:

It’s become a routine, something I do when I come from work in the evenings, to relax and switch off from the day

I have to travel abroad a lot with work and I really suffer with jet lag, but my digital printing has become a really good way to conquer it.

I do the work on my computer, having developed my own method of printing, just taking objects and moving them around. I’ll take pictures or use things like Lego or flowers, everyday objects, and then use computer software to create the designs.

Friends and family say I do too much but it’s become a routine, something I do when I come from work in the evenings, to relax and switch off from the day.

I’ve made items like wedding invitations for friends, and always make my own thank you notes after birthdays and Christmas to send out.

After a very busy day I just get such a great feeling from doing it. Recently I designed an iPad cover for my sister, which was fun.

Once you take up a hobby and really get into it, you then start to notice other artists and really appreciate their work, and the time and effort that goes into what they have created.

I need inspiration anyway for each print, so I will go into London, go to gallieries and just look around me, I would love this to develop, and maybe one day become an artist and exhibit my work. But I would never want to lose the enjoyment I get from it, because it’s my release.
