Text messaging

Here we go at last: you can talk to people without even opening your mouth. You just text them. You send them a text message, which is quick and simple. You don't have to wait around while their mobile is busy, switched off or out of signal range.

You can play around with the language and hide behind the text. Tell me, what's better - telling your wife that you'll be coming home very late tonight - or - just texting her?

(And then switching off your mobile…)

In order to be quick and efficient, text messaging reduces communication to the smallest number of key-strokes possible. It uses soundalike words and numbers, acronyms and simplified spelling.

In fact, words are intentionally misspelt and punctuation is almost non-existent.But text messaging is fun, IMHO.
