South Africa Ministry of Home Affairs don dismiss 18 officials wey dem say dey guilty for different corrupt practices.

Home Affairs say dis officials wey bin work for di department bifor don engage in fraud, harassment and also illegal processing of birth certificates.

According to a statement by di Home Affairs, dis 18 officials engage in various offences wey dey against di values of di ministry.

"Di Department of Home Affairs don dismiss18 officials wit effective immediately, for a range of offences wey include fraud, corruption and sexual harassment," di ministry tok.

Di Home Affairs add say about four oda officials collect final written warnings wey include say dia salary go dey suspended for three months.

Di statement say six officials engage in irregular solemnisation and registration of marriages, four of dem involve in irregular granting of ID documents while three of dem engage in irregular processing of birth certificates.

Oda offences include, one official wey engage in irregular processing of passports, one official for irregular approval of visa applications, irregular extension of asylum seeker permits, sexual harassment and anoda officials wey do irregular deactivation of file.

South Africa Minister of Home Affairs, Leon Schreiber say to dismiss dis officials go send clear message say di ministry dey fight corruption.

“Dis dismissals send a clear and one message say di days wia acts of fraud and corruption dey committed wit freedom against Home Affairs dey ova"

"Dismissals and prosecutions dey set to continue until we don squeeze crime and corruption comot for di system,” Minister Schreiber tok.

Home Affairs minister say dem follow due process of convictions wey show di relationship between di ministry and di Special Investigating Unit, and di Hawks.

Di Minister say di officials don dey referred for criminal prosecution.

Minister Schreiber add say, "those wey dey make di country cheap and defraud our country dey learn di hard way say e no get anywia to hide from a Home Affairs wey get strength and wey dey committed to uphold di rule of law and deliver dignity.”
