Wetin happun for court as Mohbad papa, mama and DJ give testimony

Di coroner inquest wey dey siddon for Ikorodu don invite witnesses for evidence to di cause of death of late musician Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba wey dey known as Mohbad.

Di coroner inquest dey look into di cause of death of di late musician. Di musician death draw a lot of attention and demand for justice for am.

Some of di witnesses wey appear for court na di father of di late musician Mr Joseph Aloba, Wunmi (wife of Mohbad), DJ as well as mother of di deceased.

Mohbad papa testify for court everything wey im know about im pikin till wen e die.

Di papa tender a written witness address and di court adopt am as e begin dey answer questions.

Different lawyers go examine di witnesses wit different questions wey go lead dem to how di late musician die.

Akin George wey represent di Ministry of Justice ask different questions wey go helep di court wit dia findings.

Wetin Mohbad papa tok for court

Mr Aloba Joseph testify for court say im son don die bifor dem call am.

"I bin see am three days before e die and we tok. Im live wit me under my roof for 18years before im decide to comot to go live for anoda place and di only time wey I carry am go chemist wen im be pikin na wen im get swelling for stomach and dem treat am."

"E don already die before dem call me. One time like dat, im call me say NDLEA give am one substance wey make am land for hospital."

According to di papa, dem don block in nose wit cotton wool wen im reach dia house on 12 September, di day e die.

"Im mama call me around few minutes to 5:00pm say dem tell am say something do Mohbad. Na around 9:30pm I reach di place and e don already die. Wen I reach di house, plenty pipo don dey di house already."

Answering questions from lawyers, e tell di court say di mortuary reject am wen dem carry am go dia.

"We carry Mohbad go Ikorodu General Hospital but dem no accept am sake of say we no get police report. Wetin happun be say wen we go police station, after I sign papers, dem no gree give me di papers and we get to carry im body comot."

"Wen mortuary no accept im body, I instruct make dem prepare di body for burial. I leave dem for di hospital to go arrange wia dem go bury am becos as a Yoruba man, I no fit dey look di dead body of my son like dat and we no fit keep am for house."

Di papa mention say one Darosha na im dey in charge of di casket wey dem use bury di deadi body for gberigbe Ikorodu.

"E don die before dem even call me. We call ambulance wey go carry am comot and na di money wey Davido send through one of im representatives we use buy di coffin ." E tok.

Di papa also reveal say im son bin don dey complain of im record label wey dey threaten am before but anytime wey im wan intervene, Mohbad go tok say e go handle am.

"I bin witness one fight wey happun wit im and some boys from im record label, on getting dia make I intervene, im tell me say make I no worry, say im go handle am and since na im know wetin happun I allow am do wetin im wan do."

'Im vomit before im death'

Meanwhile, di personal Disc Jokey (DJ) to late Mohbad, Ajisegiri Sultan Ayobami also narrate how dem beat am for one show wey dem attend for June 2023.

"We go one party and we meet dem Sam Larry but we no follow anybody tok as we just sidon for our own side. Few minutes after dem Sam Larry comot di party. But we later come notice say Iyara (Mohbad friend) dey miss for our team, na pesin come tell us for inside say dem dey beat am for outside."

"As we rush go outside, we see say Sam Larry dey beat Iyara and anoda of di boys Elele also beat me join. Na one bouncer for di party help me escape" DJ Bami tok.

During cross examination by di lawyer representing di ministry of justice Akin George, di DJ add say dem attack Mohbad wen dem dey do one video shoot for June 2023. E add say dem bring bus full of boys wey come beat dem but Zlatan bin dey beg Sam Larry and im boys.

Di DJ na one of doz wey witness everything wey happun to Mohbad bifor im die.

Im testimony ryhme with wetin don dey before say true true Mohbad go one show for 10 September at Ikorodu Town hall wia some kasala happun before dem comot di show on Sunday night.

"Na two Prado jeep we carry go. Mohbad, son, wife, Darosha and Spending bin dey same jeep but I no know wetin happun for dia own jeep as I know dey dia. But before di show, dem bin first go meet di show organizer for anoda location and na after dat we com go di town hall to wait till wen di show bin start around after 8:00pm."

"Wen we finish, some cars bin block our jeep and I see say Mohbad comot di jeep to come but I no dey wit dem. Later we see am say e get argument with im friend Prime Boy and di glass of di jeep don injure wey blood dey comot," di DJ tell di court.

Di DJ tok say dem no treat di wound wen de reach house as Mohbad enta room go sleep. Im add say na very late in di night di matter happun and Prime boy no follow dem go dia house dat night.

"Dat night I go buy spirit wey we go use clean di wound but wen I bin come back, im don sleep and I no wake am."

According to DJ Bami, Mohbad dey fine wen dem reach house and wen im wake for Monday morning and im use di cotton wool clean di wound wey dey back of im right hand.

DJ Bami tell di court say Mohbad bin chop noodles wey im brother cook wen hunger catch am but e later vomit am and na den dem come call nurse.

"Im chop indomie and vomit am. Mohbad get personal nurse but wen I call am, she say she no dey around and anoda pesin call anoda nurse."

"Di nurse say make I snap di hand to am so she go know wetin happun, she come tok say na tetanus injection and paracetamol she go give Mohbad. Wen she give di injection, Mohbad wife bin dey dia all di time and dem come call me make I come inside di room. I see say Mohbad don dey convulse, di nurse say we need drip make im body fit cool down."

DJ Bami say im go buy drip wey dem go give Mohabd but wen im return, im see say dem dey rush Mohbad comot di house wit his eyes closed and hand swinging without control.

"I know say Mohbad get ulcer and I no allow di nurse give her di diclofenac wey shebi wan give am. I no know wetin happun wen I comot go buy drip and I sabi pass dat one"

"Na di neighbour help us wit im car, but as traffic catch us for road wey make dem use bike carry di body enta hospital. Di doctors tell us say dem bring am in dead and dem begin pack am up wit cotton wool for im nose."

"I call Darosha to come, na wen im come e vex say e no possible make Mohbad die. E comot di cotton wool for di nose before we carry am go second hospital for Osapa London wia dem tok say im don truly die."

'E say dem go kidnap me if I tok' - Mohbad mama

Mother of Mohbad Mrs Bose Aloba tell court say her son dey always complain of im record label and di threat.

During cross examination by di lead counsel Salami Kolawole, she tok how she bin beg Mohbad make e comot di record label but im no fit comot sake of di contract wey im sign never complete.

"I beg make e comot but im tell me say if im comot before three years contract wey im sign, all di entitlements wey suppose be for am go dey wit dem. E tok say dem dey always beat am if im go any show."

"E get time wey we wan report to di king of Ikorodu and afta we agree, Mohbad later tell me say make we drop am say dem fit harm me. I even tell am make she report to some musician and im call Pasuma for my front to report di mata."

She explain how di son dey always tell am everywhere im wan go and im dey always fear to go perform for shows.

Mohbad mama reveal say her son dey always beg her make she no do anything say dem fit harm her or kidnap her if she tok.

"Im dey always mention names of pipo wey dey threaten am but e dey always fear for im life," di mama tok as tears comot her eyes.

Di case dey adjourned till 7 November wia oda witnesses including di wife go testify.
