Why all dis govnors dey comot from PDP?

Most of di govnors and oda politicians wey don resign from di party wey bring dem come power go di ruling party dey often cite di need to align wit di central govment as di reason.

Di latest govnor to defect, Enugu state Peter Mbah say di decision bin no come easy,.

E say PDP and di Southeast bin dey loyal to di PDP for nearly 30 years, as dem give di party dia total support, carry di party for dia shoulders and make plenty sacrifices, but even at dat, di party no reason dem.

"Wen dem dey take critical national decisions, dem dey most time ignore our voices."

E add say, "di PDP no longer represented a viable vehicle for our aspirations. To secure our future, we gatz align wit platform wey value and reinforces our vision."

Also im counterpart, govnor Diri of Bayelsa state wey recently resign tok say di decision na for "obvious reason".

Wetin these defections mean for Nigeria democracy?

Former govnor of Bayelsa State and senator wey dey Bayelsa West for di National Assembly Sen. Seriake Dickson reaffirm im commitment to PDP, and say di Governors wey dey defect dey make a mockery of democracy.

Dickson tok dis one for di National Assembly complex Abuja as e react to governor Diri resignation from di PDP.

"E dey sad say instead of fixing di problems, dem allow di crisis fester and now dem dey bail out. E dey make Nigeria look small, e dey ridicule our democracy, and endanger multiparty politics. Wetin we dey witness na political class suicide." E tok.

Oga Dickson add say im no see any compelling reason for di govnor to defect, but as for im, e stand gidigba wit di PDP.

Associate Professor of Public Law for di Rivers State University, Ritchard Wokocha say di recent resignation of govnors from di PDP mean say di party dey lose steam.

Prof Wokocha observe say for di south-south region wia Bayelsa State dey, di PDP bin dey in control until recent times, becos of di six states wey make up di South South, only di Governor of Rivers State still dey di PDP as majority of di oda State Governors don join di APC.

"Now wey almost all di Governors don comot from di party to di APC, e mean say di PDP dey almost comatose as na only Rivers State remain wey di Governor never make an official declaration. S,o e mean say di party dey deadbeat for di South-South."

E add say dis one mean say for di national level, di chances for di PDP dey grow much slimer and e naturally mean say dem dey go out of existence gradually."

Dis trend political analysts say fit lead to a one-party State for Nigeria wit di wave of defections to di ruling party wey dey happun.

Prof Wokocha note say di principle of carrot-and-stick dey play out and di overall objective na for di President to return for im second term.

"Dis show say for Nigerian politics, no be di voters dey determine who go rule but di officials, so di strategy dem dey use na to get all di official leaders for di states to dey in one direction so any strong objection no go dey," e tok.
