Afta dia National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting for Abuja, di Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) don announce date wey dem go do dia National Convention and dose wey go be members of di committee.

Dis announcement na by di Acting National Chairman of di party, Amb Iliya Damagum wey reveal say dem don approved di conduct of di National Convention for Thursday 28th to Saturday 30th August 2025.

Di chairman also add say di NEC don also 'receive and ratify di composition of di Committee on di Zoning of National Offices ahead of di National Convention.'

Dis come afta PDP wey be di main opposition party for Nigeria, hold dia NEC meeting for Abuja to discuss several issues wey dey affect di party.

Na di 99th NEC meeting of di PDP wey dem hold for di party presidential campaign office, Legacy House, Abuja on Tuesday 27 May, 2025.

According to di party, di NEC na "one of di highest decision-making organs of di PDP" and e dey important.

Di meeting come for period wey di party dey face serious defection threat, instability and some members dey do anti-party activities.

"Di meeting na to address critical issues wey dey affect di party, wey go also include strategies for upcoming political engagements," di party for dia X post.

Di members of di National Convention Committee na Gov Ahmadu Fintiri as Chairman, Gov. Ademola Adeleke as Vice Chairman and Gov Peter Mbah as Secretary.

Also dem announce members of di zoning committee, according to PDP statement and dem include: Gov Douye Diri as Chairman, Gov Dauda Lawal as Vice Chairman and Gov Caleb Mutfwang as Secretary.

According to di party chairman, di party go resolve di issue of di national secretary of di party for dia next NEC meeting.

"NEC also receive di Resolution of di South East Zonal Executive wit regard to di issue of di National Secretary of our Party. NEC resolve to consider di Resolution of di South East Zonal Executive for di next NEC meeting wey go hold on Monday, 30th June, 2025."
