E dey face charges of attempted homicide, possession of instrument of crime and tampering wit evidence afta im allegedly stab his wife for Pennsylvania.

Lower Paxton police say di victim dey stable condition afta she undergo surgery.

"We get report from Dauphin County about one stabbing incident – di victim arrive for di local hospital wey she undergo emergency surgery," di Lower Paxton Police Bureau tok.

Di statement add say "di victim currently dey stable wey she dey recover."

Lower Paxton police bureau identify di suspect as Valentino Nortey wey dem "pursue am without any drama wey we carry am go di Dauphin County booking centre."

"Afta arraignment by di magisterial district judge David Judy, dem deny Valentino Nortey bail – he currently dey di Dauphin County prison wey he dey wait for his preliminary hearing," di Lower Paxton police bureau tok for dia statement.

Family of di victim dey demand justice

Family of di victim wey be di wife of di politician (Gilda Nortey) say dem want make di law deal wit dia in-law wey allegedly "attempt to kill dia daughter."

Her uncle oga David Gyapinin tok local radio station Citi FM say "dem get argument wey my niece say she go file for divorce if tins no change."

"My niece say Valentino threaten to either kill himself or kill her, wey he stab am three times."

David Gyapanin say "we believe di law go work for di US on dis mata; you no fit marry somebody's daughter wey you go try to kill her sake of she say she no go marry again. If dem no give her justice for di US when Valentino return to Ghana, we go seek justice."

As at 23 January 2026, di victim (wife of Valetino) still dey hospital.

Her uncle David Gyapanin tok BBC Pidgin say "she still dey respond to treatment for di Intensive care unit (ICU) di last time I check on her."
