"The scene was truly something from a nightmare. Severed limbs, decapitations, human remains everywhere. Most of these were very close friends and associates. Taff Jones, the medic, did a sterling job in very difficult circumstances. I don't know what was the average age of the dead, but it couldn't have been much more than 25, probably less."
