FACTS

Nottingham Theatre Royal:
The theatre was completed in 1865. It was originally the idea of two Nottingham lace dressers, William and John Lambert.
The Theatre Royal has the enviable reputation of being one of the best touring venues in the country with a 1,186 seat auditorium.
In 1969, after over a century of productions the City Council decided on a programme of restoration and in 1978 the Theatre Royal reopened. It now attracts the top productions with the star names.

Peter Pan's cast includes the villainous Leslie Grantham as Captain Hook and the mad-capped Joe Pasquale as his bungling sidekick Smee.

Leslie Grantham is best known for his portrayal of the character Den Watts in BBC TV’s Eastenders, a role he played for four years.

His other credits include starring roles on stage, in film and on television, most recently as Boyard in Fort Boyard on Channel 5.

With numerous tours, pantomimes, summer seasons, combined with dozens of television appearances, Joe Pasquale continues to establish himself as one of Britain’s unique comedy entertainers.

Joining them in Neverland is Sara Hillier as the high-flying Peter Pan, Hayley Miller will be sprinkling Fairy Dust as Tinkerbell and Joanna Forest plays Wendy.

All this plus the high-energy tumbling team THE Acromaniacs as Captain Hook’s motley pirate crew.

What's the story?
The story of Peter Pan was originally seen at the Duke of York Theatre, London on 27th December 1904 as a play written by J M Barrie.

He later adapted the play into a novel titled Peter Pan and Wendy in 1911.

J M Barrie wrote for the Nottingham Journal after graduating from Edinburgh University in 1882.

He went on to become a very well respected author and playwright and the story of Peter Pan is well known around the world.

The story of the boy who never wants to grow up has in turn been helping children at the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital for over 70 years.

Peter Pan is said to be perfect pantomime fun for all the family.
