It's perhaps interesting to note I have tried to do this blog many times over the weeks I have been back but have either A) Forgotten what to put or B) My computer crashed. So in the end I have written it today September 11th... I remember five years ago. It seems such a long time ago now, I was still at South Craven doing Philosophy... It was when I was in New York and visited Ground Zero that it struck me just how much pain and suffering had been caused on that day. But it also made me realise just how resilient humans are; they are rebuilding bigger and better as a memorial to those who died, a part of New York died that day, but the rest is making up for it! | "they are rebuilding bigger and better as a memorial to those who died, a part of New York died that day" | |
Anyways, I don't wont to dwell on that too long as I have spent almost 3 months out of contact with you all. The Summer at Camp was probably one of the best things I have ever done, the kids were mad (in every sense of the word) the days were very long and the work was hard but you know what? I have never enjoyed myself so much. If you ever think about going to work at a Summer Camp do it, you won't regret it (just remember that anything is possible and be prepared to be shocked and amazed at what the kids get up to!). I move back to Uni tomorrow and for once my room looks tidy - I finally got rid of all the boxes that have been hanging around since I moved out of Uni (what was the point of unpacking when I was going to be in America?!). I am looking forward to going back but I will admit some sense of worry that it isn't going to be as good as I hope :-( Start my job training on Wednesday, Confrontation training, first aid etc. Gonna be very interesting! Well that's it for now, better go finish packing. Speak to you all soon. Marty |
