Using Activity Cards
Introduction to Activity Cards
Each activity card, which focuses on a key theme (e.g., Festivals) suggests a number of play-based activities that can be carried out either indoors or outdoors. The intention is that the activities should not be seen as ‘stand alone’ but rather be infused throughout the everyday curriculum of the pre-school setting. In addition Let’s Play and Learn Together also values the importance of small group or whole class discussion for young children’s learning and development. The front cover of the card will lend itself to much discussion and problem-solving. Some of the prescribed activities, particularly for the more abstract themes (e.g., Honesty), focus principally on circle time, baking, talking and listening.
