BBC Radio Ulster MW 1341 PROGRAMME 1: SELB number: RM 0736 13 January 2009 11.40 am

Cyber fanatic, Blaisín celebrates her 10th birthday with her Gran. Meanwhile her globe-trotting parents keep her up to date with news of their travels through the latest technology. Via the internet, Blaisín watches her Dad's reports from China on the New Year celebrations but is perplexed by his birthday greeting for her - it's in a strange language she's never seen before. Gran presents her with an unimpressive gift, a wooden whistle found during her days as an archaeology student. However, the ancient 'feadóg' reveals an amazing secret, a cranky 'know-it-owl' who may hold the secret to the meaning of the strange words. Blaisín and her buddy, Charlie, are swept back into the depths of time to witness the heroic feats of Setanta as the owl encourages them to use their powers of deduction to work out what the words mean. They're from a lot closer to home than they first thought! |
