As the Ulster Hall in Belfast undergoes a multi million pound facelift, particular attention is given to paintings that capture scenes of a city long since gone. They are by County Down artist Joseph Carey and have been on display in the Ulster Hall for nearly a century. Sadly, the years have taken their toll, and as the Ulster Hall's own refit continues, the paintings themselves are taken away to England where they will be restored to their former glory by a team of experts.
