| Fly Away By Natalie, age 15, from Kingsthorpe, Northampton
Some days I want To grow wings Powerful and strong and sleek To hold my weight To aid my flight. And I want to be taken By a breath of air To some distant place Where I can be free To fly To breathe. To be who I am Not someone people Want me to be. I want my wings to grow fast From the blades of my shoulders. So my arms are still free To touch the tips of waves To take flowers From a wood To wave goodbye But not farewell. I want to fly someplace Just for a little while. Where I can think Free my mind and soul To hope To dream To look for something I don't know. Then come back home To love. |
