Bree O'Mara swapped her comfortable life in Northamptonshire with the tough conditions of East Africa, living with the Maasai. Here she tells her story.

In January 2004, Bree O'Mara put her career on hold and journeyed to East Africa to work with the Maasai in a tiny village in north-eastern Tanzania. The project on which she has been working is the brainchild of a Northamptonshire-based organisation, MondoChallenge, which operates 33 projects in seven countries in the developing world from its offices in the Northants village of Milton Malsor.
