Scottish group Travis are to perform at Thetford Forest on Friday, 8 June. Demand for the 6,000 tickets, which go on sale today, Tuesday, 27 February, is expected to be high after the band's March dates in London, Glasgow and Warrington sold out in record time. Following the response, the four-piece have announced a further road trip in May, with their forest tour in June the latest addition to their schedule. The round of dates is the band's first major UK tour since 2004. Travis will launch their five-date national forest tour in Thetford, just a month after the release of their fifth studio album, The Boy With No Name - their first LP in three and a half years. The band, led by Fran Healy, have struck a chord with music fans across the world with their anthemic bittersweet pop and have influenced a range of acts, including Coldplay. | | James Morrison will also be at Thetford. |
Travis' gig is the second outdoor show to be announced for the High Lodge venue, with the band joining Brit Award winner James Morrison for Thetford's opening weekend. Gig organisers are expected to reveal some of the names of the other acts due to appear on 9 June and 12, 13 and 14 July in the next two weeks. In recent years, Thetford has played guest to Paul Weller, Madness, Beautiful South and The Sugababes. Tickets for Travis went on sale on Tuesday, 27 February, 2007 and cost £24.50 plus booking fee.
