Blondie: Still going strong

Blondie reveal forest gig

Music legends Blondie are to strut across the stage at Thetford Forest this summer. The band, led by peroxide pin-up Debbie Harry, will play their world-famous string of hits on Saturday, 14 July, 2007, with tickets going on sale on Friday.

Top band Blondie have been announced as the latest name on the line-up at Thetford Forest this summer.

The New Yorkers - led by iconic blonde Debbie Harry - will play on the beauty spot's outdoor stage on Saturday, 14 July, 2007.

The 6,000 tickets for the High Lodge concert will go on sale at 9am on Friday, 2 March.

The veteran outfit are one of the few groups to have gone to the top of the pop parade over three decades.

They have hit the number one spot seven times, with hits including Heart Of Glass, Call Me and The Tide Is High.

The group sprung to fame in the UK in the 1970s after emerging from the Big Apple's new wave punk scene, but their crossover into pop, rock, reggae and disco appealed to a broad audience.

Blondie will join Travis and James Morrison on the bill at Thetford, on the Norfolk-Suffolk border.

The headliners for the venue's gigs on 9 June and 12 and 13 July have yet to be announced.

Tickets for Blondie go on sale on Friday, 2 March, 2007 and cost £29.50 plus booking fee. Call the hotline on 01842 814612.
