The gig: BBC proms. The star: You! BBC Proms Young Singers AuditionsDuring July around 160 shortlisted young singers were invited to attend an audition workshop in London. Here you can find out what went on that day and get some tips from the experts involved. During the audition process all of our young singers took part in a workshop with one of our vocal experts Jo McNally & Gillian Dibden where they were taught a short piece from Rachel Portman's creation.
It was then down to the panel of judges to decide who was recalled for the afternoon session and ultimately who made it to the residential camp in August. About the piece
Owen Sheers and I were very interested in writing a piece about climate change and a piece that would involve a lot of young people. Some who end up as one of the lost children will have had some experience, others won't have had any, but they all have an equal chance... I would have loved to do this when I was a kid! Meet the judges Those young singers who made it through to an afternoon recall performed in front of a panel of judges, all of whom are involved in the production of H²hOpe: The Water Diviner's Tale.
Here you can find out who they are and find out more about them.
