Do you like to give your favourite dish a unique twist, by adding some extra items or flavour combos to make it pop?

Well if so, you're not alone! New research has found found that eight in 10 people like to adapt or tweak classic dishes to make them their own.

A survey of 2,000 UK adults, carried out by Perspectus Global in September, found that people under 30 years old were more likely to change recipes than older cooks.

Seven in ten even said that they think the best home cooks know when to ignore what is written in the recipe book.

Some of the efforts to make dishes more exciting included bringing in flavours from other cuisines – for example a matcha Victoria sponge or Yorkshire pudding burrito.

Others suggested serving kimchi alongside a Sunday roast is a good way to spice things up.
