Taylor Swift has taken another fearless step into music history, becoming the youngest female artist to ever be included in the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

This honour comes after a shining few years for the 36-year-old, who continues to prove she's still on top of the world.

Back in October, Swift broke records with her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl.

And now, Swift is joining a long list of legendary music stars in the Hall of Fame.

Read on to find out more about some of her record-breaking achievements...

Swift will be welcomed into the prestigious Hall of Fame at a private ceremony in New York later this year.

But, what is the Songwriters Hall of Fame?

It was founded back in 1969 and honours those "whose work represents a spectrum of the most beloved songs from the world's popular music songbook".

Every year the membership selects a small group of artists to join - in the last 50 years, less than 500 people have been invited.

This year Swift is one of nine songwriters joining the 2026 class, which also includes American music producer and songwriter Walter Afanasieff, known for his work with Mariah Carey.

To qualify to be part of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, a songwriter must have a "notable catalogue of songs" and "qualifies for induction 20 years after their first commercial release of a song".

Artists already in the hall include people like Elton John, Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi.

Taylor Swift has been breaking records and making history since she first joined the music scene in the early 2000s.

Just last year she announced she now owns all her own music - after a long running legal battle saw the star gain back the ownership of her albums.

Her worldwide Era's tour became a huge phenomenon and broke many records.

Including becoming the highest-grossing concert tour ever (over $2 billion) and breaking records for the most shows by a solo artist at venues like Wembley Stadium.

Swift also hit another milestone in September 2025 by becoming the first and only female artist to surpass 100 million certified album sales, as confirmed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Taylor also previously made history as the first woman to have four albums in the Billboard Chart's top 10 simultaneously and only the second living artist to do this.

And, don't forget she also broke a world record by becoming the first artist in history to have her songs make up the entire US top ten!

As you can see Swift is breaking records and making history everywhere she goes and for now it looks like her success isn't going out of style anytime soon.
