Children's Mental Health Week 2026 will take place from 9-15 February.

This year's theme is 'This is My Place', which is organised by children's mental health charity Place2Be.

Its aim is to support the systems around children and young people to help them feel that they belong.

Each year, hundreds of schools, communities and workplaces get involved in Children's Mental Health Week.

What is mental health?

Mental health describes our emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing.

It affects how we think, feel, and act but also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.

But sometimes people can experience mental health problems, which can massively affect their thinking, mood, and behaviour.

How did Children's Mental Health Week begin?

Children's Mental Health Week takes place every February.

It was started in 2015 to give a voice to all children and young people and to raise awareness of children and young people's mental health.

Last year's theme was 'Know Yourself, Grow Yourself' - about how we can build and grow our resilience by understanding ourselves and recognising our emotions.

Advice if you are worried about talking about mental health problems

If you are worried about anything to do with mental health there is lots of support available.

Firstly you can is speak to an adult that you trust about your concerns - for example a parent or family member, a family friend or even a teacher at school.
