Yellow weather warnings are also in place for rain and wind across Northern Ireland, parts of south Wales and the south coast of England.

An amber weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for rain across parts of the southwest coast of England on Monday evening into Tuesday morning.

30-50mm of rain is predicted.

It means flooding is likely, homes and businesses could lose power and there may well be disruption on the roads due to surface water and on public transport.

A yellow weather warning for rain covers the rest of the south coast of England overnight and into Tuesday including parts of London.

Wind is also expected to reach speeds of up to 70mph on the southwest coast with a yellow warning in place.

Further north, a yellow warning for rain and snow is in place.

It's likely to be rainy in most places with higher ground more likely to see snow. Up 30mm of rain is expected but it's thought up to 50mm could fall in some places.

Public transport is likely to see delays while water on the roads could make for difficult driving conditions.

Flooding is also likely in some areas.

Scotland

A yellow weather warning for rain and snow is also in place in parts of Scotland throughout Tuesday.

Higher ground is expected to see the snow while other areas could see around 35mm of rain.

In the worst affected areas this could reach up to 50mm of rain.
