First ever Enid Blyton exhibition revealed
- Published

The first ever major exhibition about Famous Five author, Enid Blyton, is to open at the National Centre for Children's Books. It includes scripts from some of her classics, like Malory Towers, which have never been on display before.

Some of Enid Blyton's most popular creations include Noddy, the Secret Seven, the Famous Five and Malory Towers. She wrote more than 700 books!

Although Enid Blyton passed away 45 years ago she still remains one of Britain's most popular authors. Her books have sold more than 500 million copies around the world!

This novel, called Mr Tumpy's Caravan, was never even published. It will be on show in the exhibition.

There were no iPads or computers in the 1920s - Enid Blyton had to use a type writer and hand-correct the scripts - like this one from the Malory Towers series.

Some people have criticised the books for being outdated, and many have been changed for reprints. According to Seven Stories chief executive Kate Edwards, though, Blyton's work "should be viewed in the context of its time".

Mystery, Magic and Midnight Feasts runs at the Seven Stories until spring 2014.
