Sam Smith reacting to his Grammy nominations
Sam Smith summed up his reaction to the news of his Grammy nominations with a picture saying "What is going on!! 6 Grammy nominations. Dear Lord."
The singer is up for six awards including best new artist and said it was "outrageously incredible."
He is the first UK male artist ever to be included in the four big categories: Album of the year, record and song of the year as well as best new artist.
"It's unbelievable, it's just a dream come true," he told the BBC.
"It hasn't properly hit me yet. I haven't had a lot of time to digest it so I think I need a few days and then I'll probably just start crying uncontrollably."
Sam, Beyonce and Pharrell all lead the field with six nominations each.
U2, the most nominated group in Grammy history, received a nod for Best Rock Album for Songs of Innocence.
Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Hozier, Bastille and Charli XCX are all up for prizes as well and were all, unsurprisingly, pretty pleased to make the list.
