A review has begun into whether a West Mercia police officer cleared of rape may face misconduct proceedings.
PC Vinod Kumar Dahiya, 45, who has been suspended by the force, was cleared of attacking a woman while off-duty in May and June last year.
The force said it would review the case to see if it should take action under police misconduct regulations.
A spokeswoman said: "PC Dahiya remains suspended and we will make no further comment while this review is ongoing."
In July, the jury at Stafford Crown Court was also unable to reach a verdict on a second rape charge, as well as a charge of common assault, and was discharged.
The Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed it would not seek a retrial.
