Raymond Jeacock is accused of raping a 14-year-old in 1980 when he was a detective
An ex-detective accused of raping a 14-year-old girl 36 years ago faced disciplinary action at the time but no criminal charges, a court has heard.
Raymond Jeacock, 62, of Banburgh Close, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, is accused of attacking the teenager in 1980.
The victim's father complained to the force at the time of the attack but no charges were brought. The victim complained to police in 2014.
Mr Jeacock denies rape and is on trial at Nottingham Crown Court.
'Whispered in her ear'
On Wednesday, the jury heard that he faced disciplinary action after the alleged attack and was forced to resign, but despite an investigation there were no criminal charges.
The investigation was reopened in 2014 after the woman, who cannot be named, complained to police.
The judge was told she was questioned at a police station in 1980 in connection with her boyfriend, who was serving a prison sentence.
Mr Jeacock later offered to drive her home claiming her father had been drinking, the court heard.
The prosecution said he raped her in her bedroom but pretended to be looking for something under the bed when disturbed by her father.
'Not a nice person'
He whispered in her ear not to say anything, the jury was told.
In a recorded interview played to the jury, the victim said after the attack she changed her appearance and "wasn't a very nice person".
She added that she did what he wanted "because he was an adult" and that she struggled to cope with the fact that she had not tried to fight him off.
Andrew Voit, prosecuting, said as a result of a disciplinary hearing Mr Jeacock resigned from the force but no criminal charges were brought.
The trial continues.
