Plans for the station were approved in 2013
Bromsgrove's new train station is set to open next month, officials have confirmed.
The £24m station, which has longer platforms, a waiting room and a 350-space car park, was expected to open to passengers last November.
Network Rail admitted in April workers had encountered problems during the project.
Once further work is completed this year, there will be four trains an hour between Bromsgrove and Birmingham.
'Reliable services'
The station was due to open in 2015
Martin Ball, area director for Network Rail, said: "This is the first of a series of upgrades through Bromsgrove.
"A more reliable signalling system is being installed and the line between Bromsgrove and Barnt Green will be electrified, which will provide passengers with better, more frequent and reliable services."
The station, built about 320ft (100m) from the town's current station, will also have a staffed ticket office, toilets and an external concourse will link passengers to the car parking areas along with new bus stops, a taxi rank, pedestrian footpaths and a cycle store.
Councillor Ken Pollock, from Worcestershire County Council, said improving transport links in the county was a "priority".
The first train from the new station will depart at 06:20 BST on 12 July.
